16hrs journey from Bombay to Kasaragod and 2hrs journey from Mangalore
Kanhangad. There is a station at pallikkere but the major train stops
only at Kanhangad or Kasaragod station 7 and 15kms away respectively.
Road:25kms west to NH17
Bangalore to Kanhangad 9hrs, Mangalore to Kanhangad 2hrs.

There is bus shuttle service by KSRTC (Kerala State Road Transport
Corporation) from Kasaragod to Kanhangad and Payyannur one has to
pick the buses running via chandragiri if state bus and via udma
if private bus to reach Bakel fort from Kasaragod.
